So precisely cut to width that I didn't need to use scissors (unlike my past experiences) while trying to adjust them inside the window depth of my sunroom. They fabric protects from sun and peeking during the day. We dont however use it during the night.

More like an open window but still protected against sun and prying eyes
The 14 openness solar shades provide an open window like brightness and visibility, except its afflictive element- the uv element. I would recommend it for day time privacy also. however, it's not built for night time privacy, i none of the solar blinds claims to provide the nighttime privacy feature.

WOW! I made a mistake in measurements and the covered it
I only measured width at the bottom, finding it convenient as the window's top was hard to reach, and assuming the top to be of same 34 1/2" width. But on getting and installing my new elite 14 openness solar blind, I found out it was narrower, the top wider by 1/2": That light gap wasn't bearable, I consulted AffordableBlinds.com customer support for the solution, they happily offered a replacement for the fabric without any full charge, and also guided me how to remove the existing fabric and attach the new one to the roller mechanism. So impressed !!!

Block most sunlight while soften the remaining
On the basis of my first hand experience, I agree these window coverings provide up to 86% percent sun protection while the remaining 14% percent create a soft glow in the kitchen's direct sun-facing window on the south.
